The MATCHCAP™ is a nearly indestructible waterproof match case for storing matches and other fire starting material. By integrating the red-phosphorus striker into the threaded are of the capsule, we created an innovative solution for having to pack separate match strikers. To ensure our match case was going to be the best out there, we added a concealed o-ring, durable square threads, a bottom strike-anywhere striker, and a high-end aesthetic to bring it all together.
The MATCHCAP™ can carry all sizes of matches from the standard kitchen strike-on-the-box to NATO lifeboat matches and even the extended length stormproof matches. With the dual-striker design you can use safety matches, strike-anywhere matches, or a combination of two. An O-ring keeps both the matches and the red phosphorus (strike-on-the-box) striker dry.
The inside of the MATCHCAP is larger at the bottom. Place the majority of your matches tip down with a few tip-up for maximum capacity.
Waterproof, safe and redundant match striker design
Replaceable striking pads
Works with both safety and strike anywhere matches
Holds matches up to 72mm in length
Square threaded cap for maximum durability
Unique lanyard attachment allows for two 550 paracord loops
Waterproof to depths >5 meters
Lightweight aircraft grade 6061 aluminum construction Anodized and laser engraved for durability
Unique knurl for grip and use with strike anywhere matches
Extra match strikers
Do not overfill the MATCHCAP™. Leave approximately ¼ of the volume empty. When using the phosphorus striker on the top of the MATCHCAP™ it is advisable to strike from the top (opening) towards the O-ring. This will prevent any stray sparks from entering the inside of the MATCHCAP™.

This is my third matchcap, and second one in the smaller size. I love the product and even though it is expensive, i felt that it was made without compromise on price, which is how i like to buy my equipment. I would have given 5 stars but the round striker surface at the bottom comes off and i always have to glue it on with proper glue. Otherwise it is perfect.

Had the chance to utilize my MatchCap this weekend while camping. It worked almost ideally - had trouble getting a couple of storm proof matches (new) to strike on the small internal striker. Also, the circular striker at the end came unglued (minor issue). Other than that, I give it high ratings.

Pleasant and qualified service. The item was used for several months, so it is very convenient accessory. A lot of thanks;)

I purchased the exotac Match cap to replace one and give as a gift. this should last a lifetime and the quality is A+. If you figure out how long it will last, the cost is probably 50 cents a year. Biggest problem will be my buddies coveting the thing and it growing legs.

No other match case comes close. When "spit hits the spam" and you need to bug out and take only what really matters, this will be the first thing you pack.

Saw the pictures on the website, but they don't do this little gem justice! I have several other kinds of containers for my matches, but this one is head and shoulders better constructed than all the rest. I recommend this for anyone who takes their fire starting backup serious.

I liked the Matchcap, I don't use it for the matches but it works well and keeps things dry.

I just recieved my MatchCap today in the mail. It is very well built and the fit and finish are very nice. The annodizing is dark and even and there are no visible machine marks. The box states it's capacity at 20 kitchen matches or 16 NATO matches. I used the REI matches in mine and was able to fit just 11 matches. I got 12 in at one point but then couldn't get them back out. That was placing most of the matches upside down with 2 or 3 right side up, just as the instructions indicate. All in all it is very nice, well made and will do it's job. Properly cared for it should provide many years of service. If I could change something, it would be to add maybe another 1/8" to the diameter so a couple more matches could be stored inside

I found these guys by accident, while looking for a match safe to store my cigar matches. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and needed something to keep my matches dry and unbroken. All I can say about EXOTAC and their MATCHCAP, is what a great product. I have since placed an order for two more MATCHCAPs (some of us don't have the luxury of internet), and a LIFECAP that is being fabricated into a travel humidor/cigar case. I know that this was not the target audience (cigar enthusiast), but it just goes to show how versatile their products can be. Their customer service and products are outstanding. Thanks again to EXOTAC from all of us in the military that appreciate a great product at a great price.

THE best match-case EVER! My wife and I used this along with the nanoSTRIKER while backpacking on our honeymoon in Olympic National Park. We all know how rainy and sloppy wet the Olympic peninsula is! We had no problems with moisture or even rain getting inside to ruin my REI storm proof matches. Way to go EXOTAC!
