The red phosphorus striker is what is commonly found on the side of matchboxes. Both safety matches (normal kitchen matches) and strike-anywhere matches can be used on this striker. To replace, peel off the old pad and remove any adhesive residue. Then, peel the back off the new pad and apply to the MATCHCAP.

Same great strikers and o-ring seals as on the Matchcap-XL. Buy them, you wont be disappointed.

This is a perfect way to carry some basic survival items (Sewing needles, Bobby pins, Fish Hooks, Line, small tweezers, and even a small nanostriker) In fact, liked it so much, I decided to buy a second one (for matches only ;) - Would like to see something between this size and the Lifecap and would like see the Lifecap about 1/4 to half inch wider.
