Loading... Please wait...We set out to create a product that is high quality, ultra-small in size and completely self-contained. The nanoSTRIKER is the result. Sacrificing neither form nor function, its unique all-in-one design puts all the tools you need to start a fire into one tiny package. At the end of the day, this little tool can be collapsed and returned to key-chain ballast duty.
The striker contains an ultra-sharp tungsten carbide insert for maximum sparks.
Ferrocerium fire starters work best with tinder materials that contain large surface areas: dry grasses, wood shavings, cotton balls, dry leaves, clothing lint, etc. Using a tinder material of your choosing, create a loose tinder bundle to catch the sparks from the ferro rod. Wrap the included lanyard around a few fingers to secure the striker handle. Holding the striking tool at an angle, use moderate pressure to quickly scrape the rod. The striker should be carving material off the ferrocerium rod.

It is designed to be compact and easy to use. I like that it is a single unit and light weight. I would recommend this to anyone who may find themselves in the backcountry.

Very easy to use and a must have item if you spend any time in the woods!

As I get more into ultralight backpacking, I try to find lighter gear to replace my heavier gear; I have a wonderful firesteel (Armagedden Firesteel) that is fantastic but weights 3 oz. So I bought this and have now used it a bit and here's my thoughts...
First, it's very well made, if you like neat machined items this will be for you, however...it's very small. As a result you have to position the striker "just so" inorder to get a good spark. It works "okay" but it's a bit challenging to get a consistent spark due to its diminutive size.
I've also concluded that unscrewing this and assembling it simply is a hassle for my regular backpacking. If you want a lightweight, small firesteel that still works really well and doesn't have to be unscrewed, you should consider their Polystriker; I just bought one of those and for my purposes it's perfect. It's easier to get good sparks with that one as well.
If you love well machined items and would want this on your key ring or something like that then go for it, but it's a bit pricey and a bit too small for more practical outdoor uses.

Very well made. With it being a Nano. It is quite small. Almost
Hard to hold, but I have strong hands and did not have an issue.
Very well made product.

I have many different types of fire starters. The nanoSTRIKER is by far the most portable for me to carry with me at all times and is also waterproof ( salt water and ferrocerium are a bad combination ) the replacement refills are great for peace of mind, I purchased two sets for back-up.

Beautifully machined. Extremely lightweight. It sparked nicely once I scraped off the coating...works flawlessly. My only concern is the thinness of the rod itself. I'm hesitant to put too much pressure on it. I bought a spare and no issues yet. Very nice product.

I am a soldier in our nations marines and I have used this on more than a few occasions if it's tough enough for me to use ok sure it will work wonders on a weekend excursion. I'm willing to put my life in its hands and have on several occasion when it was the only tool besides a knife I've taken with me. Highly recommend it to anyone thinking about it. Just buy it already!

Turns dryer lint into a ball of flames! The magnesium shards burn through most flint to create a proper fire start. Waterproof, consistent, durable, and f__k up proof.

I haven't used this on an actual camping trip yet, but I have been impressed with my tests so far. One of the main reasons that I went with this one is that the steel is replaceable, and is threaded. I have had too many fire steels separate from the handle. Just be sure it is in there tight before using. I replaced the paracord with some reflective guy line to make it more visible.
Fast shipping, classy packaging, quality product.

this fire starter works good but it has to be worn in before it works great. you have to get a good purchase on the flint and a very solid strike and after it has been used a few times it produces a crazy amount of sparks at each strike. I have started 3 fires with this product so fare. this is a very small and compact survival tools that everybody should have.

First let me say I have not used this striker to start a fire yet, but I have used one by another company and this striker is so much better in every way. It is very easy to produce a lot of spark from this striker. It is also nice that you can replace the rod if you need to. The striker from the other company broke in half when I used it and is not replaceable like this one, which basically means I just threw money away with the other striker. I carry this striker on my keychain and it is not to bulky and fits in my pocket great. This is a really great product, period.

Couldn't be more happy with my nano striker. I travel for work and spend all of my time in the field. A reliable fire starter is invaluable not only to my everyday carry but to my peace of mind as well. Thanks Exotac for making quality useful products.

I have used many of these types of fire starters but this one is the best.
For as small as it is the spark is very large, I use it on my last camping trip and in no time had a great fire going. the design is small enough i will buy another one for my keychain.

From the time you open the box you know this product is vastly superior to its competitors. It flawlessly combines simple and elegant beauty with a very sturdy and functional product. Outstanding job, you wont be sorry.

From the moment you open the box on the Nano Striker, you can tell that a true designer was at the helm of creating this product. The quality of the materials and the craftsmanship is top notched and unmatched within the industry. Whether your a self reliance enthusiast looking for an EDC or an ultraligt back packer in pursuit of the lightest, most reliable lighting method, you won't be dissapointed with the Nano Striker. Not only is the design of the striker fantastic, but the customer service is top notch. I personally experienced an issue that caused me to lose my Nano Striker, but my problem was most likely due to some freak uncontrollable circumstances. Despite that fact, Rob didn't hesitate to send me a new replacement thus proving that he is as dedicated to outstanding customer service as he is to designing and crafting a superior product.

My first reaction when I first handled this product was: This is going to be a problem. The nanostriker is so elegant I don't think I can bring myself to use it outdoors!!! Seriously though, this is the Rolex of fire starters bar none. The attention to detail of whoever designed this tool is top notch... I'm talking about the knurling for the added grip... the "curve" that goes all the way around on the rod holder ... with that "curve", you can hold the nanostriker with just your thumb and index finger! Even that "curve" is knurled (again to aid in grip)! Nothing is left to chance. The size of the striker is just right for my hand... but I can see where people might complain about the size of the striker. But it's not a problem even with big hands (more on that later). Another plus to this is it fits on the side of my multitool sheath! I never leave home without it, so now I'm not without a fire starter either. How about functionality? Does it do what it's supposed to do? You bet it does! It took me a few strikes to get my first fire with it. I'm sure a couple of strikes only stripped off the outer layer of the rod. After getting the right 'angle', it's a breeze. Now, how about for those with humongous fingers? Well, nothing in here says you have to put your thumb strictly on the handle. So just slide your thumb on top of the actual striker. Here's a little experiment, get a shirt or something (not cotton), fold it thick enough then use it to hold the striker with (thumb over the actual striker, not just the handle). Now you have a big finger! Then just slide the rod under the striker, and fire away. Make sure you don't use cotton shirt because it might catch fire... That actually solves 2 problem. One is if you have a big hand... and two is if you're wearing thick gloves. Nanostriker is definitely worth its weight in gold!

When I first saw the nanoSTRIKER I knew it was the fire starter I had been looking for. For years I had been wanting a well-made, high-quality ferro rod fire starter in a completely sealed unit. More than once I have had sweat completely corrode a ferro rod, one to the point it took nearly an hour to clean it up enough to be usable and even then much of it was gone. The nanoStriker is awesome in that it is a completely sealed unit with handle, rod, and striker all in one compact package, It can be carried in a pocket or worn around the neck without fear of salts from sweat or ocean water ruining the tool. I really like the fact that the ferro rods are replaceable! I have used a couple of the units in the field for months now. I have ignited both natural and man made tinders with great success and simply love the tool! I have gone through a few rods in teaching fire craft to my students, and go back and forth from having a used rod in it for practicing, teaching class, and studying the characteristics of different materials to keeping a fresh rod in it when I hit the trail. In the months I have had and used this tool I have never had any issues with any of the threading, other than a few small scratches, with a fresh rod in it you'd never know it wasn't a new one and I have started at least 40 actual fires with it and ignited more tinder piles than I can remember. The striker really holds its edge well also. The nano goes everywhere I do. Thank you EXOTAC for making the ferro rod I have been waiting on for a very long time. B. Griffin Chattanooga Tn

I have tried many of these fire starting devices, but by far the Exotac NanoStriker is the smallest and most effective of the bunch! My last camping trip I set up my kindling added a little dryer lint from a bag I carry and prepared for failure... but Whoosh the Exotac got it first strike! Needless to say my campmates were impressed

I rarely give 5 starts for anything - this is worth 5 stars. It is a perfect combination of functionality, durability, portability, and beauty. At this time I cannot think of a thing to suggest to improve it. Don't wait, just buy, you wont be sorry!

I took my new nanoSTRIKER out the day that I got it and used it to teach a friend how to light a campfire in the woods with a firesteel. Everything about this product is perfect! The small size allowed it to easily fit inside my SnowPeak pot, and yet the sparks it produces are better than any firesteel I've used in the past. I actually used my nanoSTRIKER last night to light my grill. I added a bit of tinder dust from a pine tree, a small feather stick, and then piled on the charcoal! How many people can say that their firesteel can be used to light a BBQ? I'm ordering a few more of these just in case I lose mine (most likely to a jealous friend). I can't recommend it enough! Thanks ExoTac!

The nanostriker is a cool, well designed, must-have piece of equipment. I carry one in my cooking kit to light an alcohol stove or as a backup to the piezo electric starter on my Primus ETA solo. One thing I am displeased with is the fact the product is manufactured in China. I do not know if this is specified somewhere on the site, but to myself it appeared non-existent if it is. For $26.95, I am paying a premium for a quality product, which it is, but I was expecting an American made product.

The nanostriker is well designed, must-have piece of equipment. It is small enough to carry on my keychain, but expands to functional Striker and it works great as well. I gave it 5 stars, which I rarely do, because its worth it. Whats not to like about it
