Loading... Please wait...We set out to create a product that is high quality, ultra-small in size and completely self-contained. The nanoSTRIKER is the result. Sacrificing neither form nor function, its unique all-in-one design puts all the tools you need to start a fire into one tiny package. At the end of the day, this little tool can be collapsed and returned to key-chain ballast duty.
The striker contains an ultra-sharp tungsten carbide insert for maximum sparks.
Ferrocerium fire starters work best with tinder materials that contain large surface areas: dry grasses, wood shavings, cotton balls, dry leaves, clothing lint, etc. Using a tinder material of your choosing, create a loose tinder bundle to catch the sparks from the ferro rod. Wrap the included lanyard around a few fingers to secure the striker handle. Holding the striking tool at an angle, use moderate pressure to quickly scrape the rod. The striker should be carving material off the ferrocerium rod.

I just received the nanoSTRIKER and I am very impressed. The workmanship is excellent and it performs as described. I especially like the size as it will be easy to carry anywhere anytime. Nicely done

My first reaction when I first handled this product was: This is going to be a problem. The nanostriker is so elegant I don't think I can bring myself to use it outdoors!!! Seriously though, this is the Rolex of fire starters bar none. The attention to detail of whoever designed this tool is top notch... I'm talking about the knurling for the added grip... the "curve" that goes all the way around on the rod holder ... with that "curve", you can hold the nanostriker with just your thumb and index finger! Even that "curve" is knurled (again to aid in grip)! Nothing is left to chance. The size of the striker is just right for my hand... but I can see where people might complain about the size of the striker. But it's not a problem even with big hands (more on that later). Another plus to this is it fits on the side of my multitool sheath! I never leave home without it, so now I'm not without a fire starter either. How about functionality? Does it do what it's supposed to do? You bet it does! It took me a few strikes to get my first fire with it. I'm sure a couple of strikes only stripped off the outer layer of the rod. After getting the right 'angle', it's a breeze. Now, how about for those with humongous fingers? Well, nothing in here says you have to put your thumb strictly on the handle. So just slide your thumb on top of the actual striker. Here's a little experiment, get a shirt or something (not cotton), fold it thick enough then use it to hold the striker with (thumb over the actual striker, not just the handle). Now you have a big finger! Then just slide the rod under the striker, and fire away. Make sure you don't use cotton shirt because it might catch fire... That actually solves 2 problem. One is if you have a big hand... and two is if you're wearing thick gloves. Nanostriker is definitely worth its weight in gold!

When I first saw the nanoSTRIKER I knew it was the fire starter I had been looking for. For years I had been wanting a well-made, high-quality ferro rod fire starter in a completely sealed unit. More than once I have had sweat completely corrode a ferro rod, one to the point it took nearly an hour to clean it up enough to be usable and even then much of it was gone. The nanoStriker is awesome in that it is a completely sealed unit with handle, rod, and striker all in one compact package, It can be carried in a pocket or worn around the neck without fear of salts from sweat or ocean water ruining the tool. I really like the fact that the ferro rods are replaceable! I have used a couple of the units in the field for months now. I have ignited both natural and man made tinders with great success and simply love the tool! I have gone through a few rods in teaching fire craft to my students, and go back and forth from having a used rod in it for practicing, teaching class, and studying the characteristics of different materials to keeping a fresh rod in it when I hit the trail. In the months I have had and used this tool I have never had any issues with any of the threading, other than a few small scratches, with a fresh rod in it you'd never know it wasn't a new one and I have started at least 40 actual fires with it and ignited more tinder piles than I can remember. The striker really holds its edge well also. The nano goes everywhere I do. Thank you EXOTAC for making the ferro rod I have been waiting on for a very long time. B. Griffin Chattanooga Tn

I have tried many of these fire starting devices, but by far the Exotac NanoStriker is the smallest and most effective of the bunch! My last camping trip I set up my kindling added a little dryer lint from a bag I carry and prepared for failure... but Whoosh the Exotac got it first strike! Needless to say my campmates were impressed

I rarely give 5 starts for anything - this is worth 5 stars. It is a perfect combination of functionality, durability, portability, and beauty. At this time I cannot think of a thing to suggest to improve it. Don't wait, just buy, you wont be sorry!

I took my new nanoSTRIKER out the day that I got it and used it to teach a friend how to light a campfire in the woods with a firesteel. Everything about this product is perfect! The small size allowed it to easily fit inside my SnowPeak pot, and yet the sparks it produces are better than any firesteel I've used in the past. I actually used my nanoSTRIKER last night to light my grill. I added a bit of tinder dust from a pine tree, a small feather stick, and then piled on the charcoal! How many people can say that their firesteel can be used to light a BBQ? I'm ordering a few more of these just in case I lose mine (most likely to a jealous friend). I can't recommend it enough! Thanks ExoTac!

The nanostriker is a cool, well designed, must-have piece of equipment. I carry one in my cooking kit to light an alcohol stove or as a backup to the piezo electric starter on my Primus ETA solo. One thing I am displeased with is the fact the product is manufactured in China. I do not know if this is specified somewhere on the site, but to myself it appeared non-existent if it is. For $26.95, I am paying a premium for a quality product, which it is, but I was expecting an American made product.

The nanostriker is well designed, must-have piece of equipment. It is small enough to carry on my keychain, but expands to functional Striker and it works great as well. I gave it 5 stars, which I rarely do, because its worth it. Whats not to like about it
